It is passable but falls short in a few respects. When I initially started experimenting with it, I found that it had a lot of settings, which made it appear a little intimidating. However, after a few days, I discovered that the watch itself had a rather straightforward interface—even more straightforward than the Garmin Connect app—though it still needed some improvement. Although I was able to record my car's location at the trailhead on a recent trip, I haven't really delved too much into the GPS yet. Even though I didn't think I would get lost, I did periodically check the watch to make sure I was going in the right way, and it seemed to be. I'm not disappointed overall. Having said that, I acquired the watch mostly because the sleep tracker is a complete waste of money. It appears that I go to bed much sooner than I actually do, for whatever reason. For example, if I go to bed at 11, it will indicate that I slept from 9 to 930. Additionally, the "move alert" made no sense, so I had to turn it off. I would be outside doing yard maintenance, washing my truck, and moving.

Although I own an Apple watch, my main watch is the Gamin Instinct since it best suits my way of living. I work outside and frequently go on hikes, runs, or mountain bike rides in all types of weather. Not only does the Garmin Instinct look amazing, but it also performs incredibly well. The Apple Watch has good apps and simple user interface, but when it's raining or sweating, its touch screen becomes almost unusable. In contrast, the Garmin is completely waterproof and still works perfectly. Without cellular or GPS, an Apple Watch battery would still only last for around five to seven hours, or about 10 miles of hiking. It also needs to be charged every night, which makes it difficult to follow your sleep patterns unless you charge it during the day, in which case no data collection is possible. The Garmin functions without a phone as well, and it paired with my iPhone without any issues. The Apple Watch's clean design necessitates a large protective cover if you're not in the office.
